With fifteen years of teaching experience ranging from private lessons for young beginners to keyboard harmony at the collegiate level, my goal is to provide students with musical experiences that inspire them to make music long after their formal lessons have ended. I received a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance, a Master of Science degree in music education with professional certification, and hold the designation of Nationally Certified Teacher of Music (NCTM) through the Music Teachers National Association. Artistic studies at Mannes School of Music were followed by pedagogy training with a focus on helping students develop a tension-free and efficient technique. I’ve performed in classical and jazz ensembles throughout the Midwest Region as a Navy Musician, and as a soloist and chamber musician throughout the Chicago, New York, and D.C. metro areas. My experiences have taught me the importance of equipping students with an adaptable skill set that allows them to enjoy making music in a variety of ways.
